Official competition rules for Future Armenian Stars.

General provisions

Venue
  • All playing halls are listed per game on the Calendar and on each game’s detail page.
  • Finals or special events may use a central arena; any change will be announced in News and on the affected game.
Opening ceremony
When scheduled, time and hall will be posted on the site and communicated to club delegates.
League office / tournament director
Contact details for the current season are published in official circulars and on the News section when needed.

Participants

  • Each team may register a maximum of 15 players for a tournament or championship phase, unless the league director approves a documented exception.
  • BB League is not responsible for the personal property of players, coaches, or other participants. Everyone must help prevent theft or accidental damage.
  • BB League provides access to basic medical support at venues where it is arranged with the hall.
    • Teams should report injuries promptly so the player can receive appropriate first response.
    • Every participant should maintain valid health insurance.
    • For ambulance or hospital care, any costs beyond standard coverage are not covered by the organizer.
  • Teams must arrive at the venue on time according to the official schedule.
    • If a team fails to appear within 15 minutes after the scheduled start, the match may be recorded as a forfeit (0–20 or as defined in the competition regulations for that championship).
    • Repeated no-shows without a valid excuse may lead to exclusion from the competition without compensation.

Technical provisions

Rules of play: Games are played under FIBA basketball rules unless a specific championship bulletin states otherwise.

Competition categories: Age groups and gender splits (e.g. boys / girls, U12–U19) are defined per championship when registration opens. BB League may merge or adjust groups if registration numbers require it.

Tournament system: Group stage and play-offs (or a round-robin format) are chosen according to the number of teams in each category.

Ball size by category (typical FIBA youth practice):

  • Boys U12–U13 — size 5
  • Boys U14–U19 — size 7
  • Girls U12–U13 — size 5
  • Girls U14–U19 — size 6

Basket height: 3.05 m (10 ft) for all categories unless a championship explicitly uses youth-height baskets for the youngest divisions.

Game duration: 4 × 8 minutes running time (or as stated in the championship regulations). Stop-clock rules follow FIBA where applicable.

Time-outs (FIBA-style summary):

  • 2 time-outs in the first half
  • 3 time-outs in the second half
  • 1 additional time-out per overtime period when applicable

Ranking in groups

If two or more teams are tied on points in a group, order is decided by:

  1. Head-to-head result(s)
  2. Point difference in head-to-head (or in all group games, as stated in the championship regulations)
  3. More points scored
  4. Fewer points allowed

Any extra tie-breakers for a specific season will be listed in that championship’s regulations.

Player penalties

Disqualifications, unsportsmanlike and technical fouls, and free throws follow FIBA rules. Team foul penalties (bonus, etc.) are applied as on the official score sheet.

Referees

Officials are appointed by the relevant federation or referee assignor cooperating with BB League. Only designated referees may officiate scheduled league games.

Protests

In line with FIBA and competition rules, a protest must be submitted to the tournament referee delegate within 10 minutes after the end of the game, together with any deposit required by the current regulations (amount and currency are fixed per season and communicated to clubs).

Awards

Trophies, medals, and prizes for the top teams (and any individual awards) in each category are described in the championship announcement. Distribution follows the final standings after all games are validated.

Draw & schedules

  • The draw and full schedule are published on this site (Calendar and championship pages) as early as possible—typically no later than two weeks before the first game of a phase, unless force majeure requires changes.
  • Registered teams receive access to the same information via their delegates; fans can follow live and final results here.
  • BB League reserves the right to adjust times or halls for operational or safety reasons. The current version on the website is always authoritative.

Hospitality & refreshments

Meals, snack packages, or drinks at venues depend on each event’s partnership and are announced in the championship materials. Where BB League provides water or sports drink at a hall, it will be noted in the team instructions for that tournament.

These provisions are maintained by BB League for general guidance. Specific championships may add bulletins that override details where clearly stated.
